MHL is a standard for wired communication between a source (Mobile phones) and a sink (HDTV & Displays).

MHL is an interface to enhance the multimedia capabilities of MHL-enabled Mobile phones, tablets & portable devices by enabling them to fully integrate with HDTV’s &other CE products, while delivering 4K high-definition (HD) content with an easy-to-implement digital connectivity solution.

MHL connects MHL™ enabled devices or via adapter (MHL Dongle) to legacy HDMI.

MHL supports 4k Full HD video of 1080p/60 & 7.1 channel surround sound audio while simultaneously charging the Source device through Sink.

MHL also enables the TV Remote to control the Mobile phone and access its contents.
  • Why MHL?
A tremendous amount of multimedia content, from high-resolution images and short videos to feature length Hollywood films, is downloaded, captured and/or stored on portable personal entertainment devices. Unfortunately, when consumers connect these portable devices to an HDTV via standard analog connections, the picture is often displayed with image quality below standard definition.

Before MHL it was not possible to mirror your phone's screen to any HDTV or displays, where you can view galleries, photos and videos exactly as you would on your smartphone, but on the big screen.

Now, by MHL all these issues have been solved. MHL technology enabled devices, however, can connect to HDTVs via a standard HDMI port found on most televisions sold today, allowing users to watch and listen to multimedia content on a large screen in high definition.

All you need to do is connect your smartphone to your TV and you should see your smartphone's screen on your TV. It completely Mirrors the smartphone screen on to the HDTV.

Now you can use your smartphone or TV remote (if applicable) to navigate around your phone and play media, or even better, get gaming!
Photos and video
Since MHL mirrors your phone's screen on the HDTV, now you can experience the view of galleries, photos and videos exactly as you would on your smartphone, but on the big screen.
Music
Now you can tunes your audio content to stream to your HDTV via MHL. If you have a speaker system set up with your TV, crank up the volume and listen to them exactly as they were meant to be heard with a digital high quality audio experience.
Games
If you're getting bored by your smartphone's small screen size, which is too little & restrictive to play your favorite games on the move, why not play them on the big screen & have the high quality gaming experience at home on your HDTV only?

Now MHL will give you this experience. Just hook up your phone and away you go. You can also add a keyboard or game controller to your phone to make gameplay much easier (only some games support this feature).
Apps
Because MHL mirrors your smartphone in every way, you can even use your full suite of apps on your TV.  Just hook up, navigate to the app and go!
